In 2020, the Panthers made the playoffs for the first time in four years—and what a season to make the cut. After the COVID-19 pandemic forced the NHL to shut down the regular season in March 2020, the Panthers were one of 24 teams invited to join an NHL “bubble” in Toronto to take part in expanded playoffs. The Cats faced the New York Islanders in the Qualifying Round, playing all their games in a completely empty arena. The Panthers lost the series, 3-1, but the experience could still only be described as unforgettable.
