GOAL LIGHT, 2000s

You’re used to seeing this light up at Panthers games, but here you can spin around the goal light and see it from all sides. The first goal judges, who light the lamps when a goal is scored, date back to 1877 and sat directly behind the goal. That practice ended in 2007 in the NHL when the judge was moved to the press box, but they still light the lamp remotely when a puck goes into the net.
