A FOUNDATION OF SERVICE
The Florida Panthers have been some of Florida’s best neighbors since 1993. The organization’s history of community outreach and service dates back to before the team even took the ice for the first time. In the 2013-2014 season, owners Vincent Viola and Doug Cifu formally organized the team’s longstanding charitable efforts with the re-launch of the Florida Panthers Foundation. The Foundation raises money through events like Cats & Cocktails and in-game initiatives like the 50/50 raffle. Those funds are then granted to South Florida non-profits focused on four main areas: building the game of hockey for children and youth, supporting health and education initiatives for children, advocating for and supporting veterans’ issues, and raising awareness about the endangered Florida panther.
