In the second period of a road game against the Montreal Canadiens, Pavel Bure slipped Lance Pitlick the puck. The brand-new Panther swept it past goalie Jeff Hackett for the score. It was Pitlick’s first goal for the team and Pavel Bure’s 500th NHL point. The Panthers prevailed, 2-1.
