ELEVEN ROADIES IN A ROW
Date: February 17, 2024
Sam Bennett, Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe each scored two goals as the Panthers rolled over their rivals the Tampa Bay Lightning, 9-2. With the victory the Panthers won 11 straight road games for the first time in team history and just one off the NHL record at the time. It was also the first time that the Panthers scored nine goals in a road game in franchise history. “They’re pretty rare in this league when you score so many goals,” captain Aleksander Barkov said. “Everyone is having fun out there and playing the right way and playing hard no matter what the score was.” Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves to become the first netminder in team history to win eight straight road games.
