Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov met Carolina Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal for a face-off in Game 3 of the 2023 Eastern Conference Final. Barkov left Game 3 due to injury but returned with a fury in Game 4 by recording two assists, including on the game-winning goal with five seconds left in regulation. His production helped the Panthers clinch their first Eastern Conference Final since 1996 and earn the second Prince of Wales Trophy in franchise history.
