Roberto Luongo’s pastel-colored mask was one of the most unique in the game. The simple, clean look was a departure from other more action-packed designs favored by his colleagues.

Roberto Luongo has always been good in the hot seat, and that’s true even off the ice. The goalie was the first guest reader for the Panthers Summer Reading Tour, in which Panthers players, alumni, and friends read to local kids at area libraries.

Roberto Luongo was a formidable obstacle even before he put on his gear. Add his blocker and glove and the goalie became a brick wall. Luongo made 16,086 saves during his Panthers career, so it stands to reason that this game-used gear would have a puck-mark or two.

Matte colors were a signature Roberto Luongo look. This design from 2016 used typical Panthers colors, but the slick, minimalist panther illustration was uniquely Luongo. The mask looks cool, but more importantly its simplicity let Luongo’s skills on the ice be the center of attention.
