Sam Montembeault made waves in Mar. 2019 when he made his NHL debut with a mask that featured characters from “The Simpsons.” For the rookie’s first full-season, however, he wanted this more traditional look. The mask, painted by Sylvie Marsolais, featurs various references to Florida and panthers, including an especially realistic looking panther on the top. The “33” on the netminder’s chin was meant to look like “a panther kind of swiped it.” Which do you prefer, this or “The Simpsons” mask?
