James Reimer worked with artist Dave Gunnarsson to design this mask for the 2017-2018 season. Titled “Optimus Reim a.k.a. The Power Panther 2.0,” the mask featured a panther transforming into a robotic goalie. This “Transformers” theme was consistent with Reimer’s love of the Transformers franchise, especially Optimus Prime.
